Unit B3, 777 Guelph Line, Burlington, ON
Site-Pro completed a live-mall back-to-base demolition and shell preparation package for Unit B3, including Type 2 asbestos abatement, planned and executed after hours and on weekends to keep the enclosed mall operating with minimal disruption. The project encompassed approximately 15,048.07 sq ft and addressed a significant ACM footprint, including >60% floor mastic and ~35% ACM vinyl tile, delivered efficiently under a single Type 2 containment spanning all work zones to maintain consistent controls and streamline sequencing. Work included a full selective strip-out of interior finishes across multiple retail units and adjacent storage areas, demolition of specified fire-rated demising walls while preserving base-building systems, concrete cutting and trenching to accommodate new plumbing and electrical services, and complete slab-on-grade (SOG) reinstatement (backfill preparation, dowels/rebar installation, forming, concrete placement, and finishing). The scope was performed under strict Type 2 protocols—segregation, signage, HEPA negative air, PPE, and wet methods—with controlled waste handling, documented chain-of-custody, and legal disposal at approved facilities. The result was a clean, safe turnover, ready for the next trade, while maintaining the schedule and minimizing the impact on mall operations.
